Nossa maior diversão como viajantes é provar ao máximo a variedade gastronômica dos lugares visitados e Aruba foi incrível neste sentido (e em vários outros). Entre os restaurantes e bares variados o Sea Salt Grill teve um grande destaque.
Localizado no Renaissance Marketplace em meio aos grandes nomes de fast foods americanos este é um local original e com “raízes fincadas” na ilha. Os fundadores são a segunda geração de restaurateurs da família Pimienta, filhos dos proprietários do clássico restaurante de frutos do mar “The Old Fisherman”.
O Sea Salt Grill tem uma pequena área interna climatizada com TVs (geralmente transmitindo eventos esportivos), mas o destaque está no belo terraço com vista para o Renaissance Seaport Marina e o Seaport Casino.
Começamos o almoço com Avocado Shrimp, uma espécie de torta com camarões grelhados em molho caseiro (receita própria do Sea Salt Grill) coberto com abacate em cubos. Um prato fresco e delicioso, perfeito para dias ensolarados. – US$ 9,00 (cerca de R$ 29,00 em 03/2017) –
Outra entrada que estava maravilhosa foi o Escargot, os caracóis vieram imersos em um molho com ervas, alho, manteiga, cebolas, cogumelos e sal marinho acompanhados de pão torrado com queijo. – US$ 9,00 (cerca de R$ 29,00 em 03/2017) –
Apesar de o Sea Salt Grill ter uma carta de vinhos honesta e um ótimo bar de drinks optamos pelos sucos naturais, e não nos arrependemos!
Como prato principal o escolhido foi Seafood Risotto, clássico caribenho com risoto de arroz arbóreo, mexilhão, vieira, camarão, lula e peixe, acompanhado de torradas e queijo parmesão. Existe a opção de adicionar lagosta com um acréscimo de US$ 12,00, mas de acordo com o tamanho do prato acredito não valer muito a pena, é melhor utilizar este dinheiro para pedir outra entrada que custa em média US$ 9,00. – US$ 25,00 (cerca de R$ 80,00 em 03/2017) –
Continuamos com Whole Red Snapper, este peixe que é conhecido no Brasil como “luciano-do-golfo” é muito delicioso e comumente encontrado nas águas quentes do Caribe, nesta versão é servido inteiro, grelhado e acompanhado de arroz, mix de vegetais e um delicioso molho crioulo tradicional. – US$ 23,00 (cerca de R$ 74,00 em 03/2017) –
O Sea Salt Grill foi o único restaurante em Aruba onde encontramos carne dry-aged no cardápio, o processo de maturação pelo qual cortes bovinos ficam armazenados por semanas em temperaturas de refrigeração sem embalagem protetora. Estas foram as melhores experiências com carne que já tivemos, encontramos principalmente nos restaurantes da Argentina.
O Cowgirl Rib-Eye 18oz é o prato mais caro do restaurante custando US$ 62,00 (cerca de 198,00 me 03/2017), quase o dobro da média dos outros itens do menu. O garçom nos informou que o filé de costela é maturado por 45 dias. Estava delicioso, ainda mais quando regado com o molho chimichurri, uma experiência gastronômica que vale muito à pena.
Depois deste excelente almoço só resta degustar um expresso enquanto admiramos o movimento na marina com seus grandes cruzeiros ancorados.
O Sea Salt Grill foi uma surpresa muito agradável em Aruba, atendimento cordial e rápido, excelente custo benefício (com preços abaixo do praticado na ilha) e comida de ótima qualidade.
